Clipper yacht Race 2017-18

The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race was conceived in 1995 by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston and together with William Ward, founded Clipper Ventures, a company that would run the race.Sir Robin Knox Johnston. was the first person to sail single handed and non-stop around the world between 14th June 1968 and 22nd April 1969.
The Clipper 2017 -18 Round the World Yacht Race will start at the end of August and return almost a year later – at 40,000 miles it’s the world’s longest ocean race.
I have been accepted to join as a amateur crew member and will be sailing across the North Atlantic on their last leg back to the UK on a 70ft yacht covering over 4000nm.
Its been my ambition to take on this challenge for 5 years partly driven by the fact I work in the Seafood Industry and only hear about the risk and challenges taken on by the fishermen who bring our seafood back to the table.

I look forward to the training, learning new skills and meeting new people from across the globe. During the race I hope to conker my fear of the vast ocean, of the unknown and take on all the challenges that lay ahead with my team.

Clipper race HQ will assist all my crew supporters during my race, they will receive e-mail updates and information on how to get involved at stopovers. https://clipperroundtheworld.com/race/crew-supporters
